ArmInfo. The current situation on the liquefied gas market in Armenia was caused by the closure of the Upper Lars border checkpoint, as announced  by Gegham Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Competition and Consumer  Protection  Commission, during a press-briefing.

ArmInfo. The Bargushat Tunnel in Armenia will be built by a consortium of two French  companies – Vinci Construction Grands Projects and Razel-Bec Sas. At  a meeting on April 30, the Armenian government  officially greenlit a  Memorandum of Understanding between the RA Ministry of Territorial  Administration and Infrastructure and the consortium.

ArmInfo. The construction timelines for nuclear power plants with small modular reactors are much shorter than for traditional units. RA Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan stated this at a briefing on April 30, responding to a  question about the Civil Contract party's election platform, which  stipulates that a construction technology must be selected by the end  of 2027.

ArmInfo. In Armenia, steps have been taken to address the issue of changing the taxation of dividends received by shareholders of commercial banks. On April 30, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved amendments to the Tax Code and the Law "On State Duty."

ArmInfo. 1.059 billion drams will be allocated to co-finance subvention programs implemented in various regions of Armenia. The decision was made at a government  meeting on April 30.

ArmInfo.  The state will increase support for companies engaged in R&D. The corresponding draft law was approved at a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing  Committee on Economic Affairs.

ArmInfo.  The process of community consolidation will continue in Armenia. At its April 30  meeting, the National Assembly's Committee on Territorial  Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture, and Environmental  Protection issued a positive opinion on the amendments to the Law "On  Administrative-Territorial Division" submitted by the RA government.

ArmInfo.  On April 29, the Armenia-Austria Business Forum was held at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Vienna, bringing together representatives from  the Ministries of Economy of Armenia and Austria, Enterprise Armenia,  and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, as well as representatives  from approximately a dozen Armenian companies and nearly forty  Austrian companies, providing a dynamic platform for bilateral  business engagement.

ArmInfo.  RA Ambassador to the U.S. Narek Mkrtchyan hosted Matt Haller, President and CEO of the International Franchise Association, at the embassy, along with the  organization's Chief Advocacy Officer, Mike Layman.

ArmInfo. The mathematical knowledge of the ruling power in Armenia is limited to the 5th grade if they believe that, mathematically speaking, creating 300,000 new jobs in 5 years is unrealistic. This was stated today at a press conference by Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the largest opposition party "Strong Armenia," a renowned businessman and philanthropist.

ArmInfo. The 15th international seminar, “Faces of Memory: Newest Technologies for Preservation and Restoration of Manuscript and Printed Heritage”, has officially been launched at the Matenadaran, with the co-financing of AraratBank and the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, as well as the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia.

ArmInfo.   Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan announced on April 29 that there are  currently no initiatives to revise insurance premium amounts for  2027. Speaking at a press conference, the Minister clarified that in  accordance with established procedure, the Ministry submits an annual  report to the National Assembly for the previous year, along with  conclusions for the following year regarding the need to revise the  amount of insurance payments.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian Ministry of Finance has introduced a  legislative amendment to  restrict companies affiliated with high-ranking officials and their  families from participating in state procurement. On April 29, the RA  National Assembly's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs approved  the second reading of the amendments to the Law "On Procurement."

ArmInfo. France intends to more actively participate in investment programs in Armenia and promote the diversification of the Armenian economy. At its April 29  meeting, the Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia approved the draft protocol amending the  agreement with the Government of the French Republic of May 28, 2018,  submitted for ratification by the Armenian government.

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, the total amount of all payments collected by organizations or individual entrepreneurs providing passenger or freight transportation services  through an electronic platform cannot exceed 10% of the total cost of  the respective trip. At its April 29 meeting, the RA National  Assembly Committee on Economic Affairs approved amendments to the Law  "On Road Transport" submitted by MP Hayk Sargsyan.

ArmInfo.  Armenia and Bulgaria have agreed to expand cooperation in the areas of social security and labor migration. This was reported by the press service of the  Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, citing the meeting between  Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Nikol Nikolov and Armenian Minister  of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan.

ArmInfo.  Hayk Sargsyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the ruling Civil Contract faction, proposed legislatively restricting the  participation of some citizens in online casinos. The National  Assembly Committee on Economic Affairs is discussing amendments to  the law "On the Regulation of Gambling Activities" and a package of  related documents submitted by the member of parliament at its  November 29 meeting.

ArmInfo.  A meeting of the Council on Customs Reforms and Risk Management was held in Yerevan, chaired by Eduard Hakobyan, Head of the State Revenue Committee of  the Republic of Armenia. The meeting focused on current reforms and  new initiatives in the customs system.
