ArmInfo.  Construction of bypass roads has begun at the Pushin Pass. This was announced by David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, at the plenary session of the National Assembly of  the Republic of Armenia on April 16.

ArmInfo. In Armenia's insurance market, the CMTPL loss ratio, after declining throughout 2025 from 81.8% to 76.3%, began to rise in 2026, reaching 79.6% by the end of the first quarter (compared to 79% in Q1 2025). This is evidenced by data from the Armenian Motor Insurers' Bureau.

Armenia and Egypt discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in R&D, high technology, and the defense industry, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, citing the outcomes of a meeting between the head of the ministry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, and the Ambassador of Egypt to Armenia, Amal Afifi.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia is currently participating in the 2026 IMF-WB Spring Meetings in  Washington. According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the event began on April 13 and will continue until April 18. Deputy Governors Armen Nurbekyan and Hovhannes Khachatryan are representing the Central Bank  at the event.

ArmInfo. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts 5.3% GDP growth for Armenia in 2026  (compared to 7.2% in 2025), with an acceleration to 5.5% in 2027, as noted in the IMF's April report, "World Economic Outlook: Global Economy in the Shadow of War."

This was announced during a meeting between Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and a delegation led by Benjamin Haddad, Minister  Delegate for European Affairs to the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

ArmInfo.AraratBank comes up with a new mortgage loan offer, enabling customers to transfer their existing mortgage loans from other banks or credit organizations operating in Armenia on more favorable and simplified terms.

ArmInfo.  Some circles and media outlets in Armenia are trying to create the impression that the country has some  economic issues with Russia, but there are none. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan made this statement in a conversation with journalists in the NA.

ArmInfo.  The Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts GDP growth for Armenia of 5.5% in 2026 (compared to 7.2% in 2025), accelerating to 5.7% in 2027. According to the ADB forecast, inflation in Armenia will accelerate  to 3.8% in 2026 (from 3.3% in 2025) and then retreat to 3.2% in 2027,  as noted in the Asian Development Bank's April report "Asian  Development.  Outlook. The Middle East Conflict Challenges Resilience  in Asia and the Pacific".

ArmInfo. The need to address issues identified during the implementation of  the Law "On Tax Service" has prompted the  submission of a package of draft amendments and additions, along with related draft laws. On April 14,  the initiative was discussed in its second reading during the plenary  session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
