For the first time in 7 years of membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, the Republic of Armenia and the Kyrgyz Republic took a step towards each other by  holding the 1st meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission.  The Armenian side was chaired by Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan,  and the Kyrgyz side was chaired by Minister of Economy and Commerce  Daniyar Amangeldiev.

ArmInfo.A new NPP construction project continues to be talked about in Armenia. No one doubts Armenia needs a new nuclear-powers plant (NPP), but its  capacity is being questioned. According to the preliminary data,  Armenia's authorities are inclined to the construction of an NPP with  a capacity of 1,200MW, with experts raising objections. According to  them, Armenia needs an NPP with a capacity of 500MW.

ArmInfo. The World Bank (WB) forecasts a slowdown in Armenia's GDP growth in 2023 to 4.3% (from an estimated 7% growth in 2022), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) - to 4-5% (from an estimated 11% growth in 2022).

ArmInfo. During the regular Board meeting of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA), Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board of ARARATBANK OJSC Mher Ananyan was elected as new Chairman of the UBA Board. He will replace Gevorg Machanyan, Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of ARMSWISSBANK CJSC, who chaired the Union in 2021-2022.

ArmInfo.The Armenian authorities and IMF staff reached a staff- level agreement on a  3-year precautionary Stand-By Arrangement (SBA). The agreement is  subject to approval by the IMF Executive Board and is expected to be  considered in December 2022, the IMF reports.
