ArmInfo.The World Bank's updated Groundswell report finds that climate change, an increasingly potent driver of migration, could force 216 million people across six  world regions to move within their countries by 2050. Hotspots of  internal climate migration could emerge as early as 2030 and continue  to spread and intensify by 2050. The report also finds that immediate  and concerted action to reduce global emissions, and support green,  inclusive, and resilient development, could reduce the scale of  climate migration by as much as 80 percent.

In Jan-July 2021, the net inflow of transfers from individuals increased by 78.5% per annum (from a 1.2% decline a year earlier) - to $ 483.6 million,  which is largely supported by the continuing rapid growth of  remittances from the United States, as well as gaining momentum the  growth of transfers from Russia. This is evidenced by the data of the  RA Central Bank.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia raised its forecast for Armenia's economic growth for 2021 to 5.4% from the previously expected 4.6%. Governor of the Central  Bank of the Republic of Armenia Martin Galstyan stated this at a  press conference on September 14.  According to the head of the  Central Bank, the main sectors that will contribute to the  acceleration of the country's economic growth will be agriculture and  the service sector.

Official and real y-o-y inflation continues to accelerate in Armenia

In Armenia, in August 2021, the official y-o-y inflation calculated by the  Statistical Committee exceeded the y-o-y real inflation calculated by  the Central Bank - 8.8% versus 8%, respectively. In July 2021, the  y-o-y official inflation also exceeded real inflation, but less  noticeably - 8.2% versus 8.1%. And in the previous months of this  year, on the contrary, the real y- o-y  inflation exceeded the  official one.

ArmInfo.The Central Bank of Armenia has once again raised the refinancing rate - from 7% to 7.25%. As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the Central Bank  of Armenia, this decision was made by the Central Bank on September  14 at a meeting of the Council.  In this regard, rates on lombard  repo and on deposits attracted from banks were also increased by  0.25% percentage points - to 8.75% and 5.75%, respectively.
