Armenia, India aim to boost trade and economic ties

ArmInfo.  During a meeting marking India's Republic Day, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Indian Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha underscored the urgent need  to energize trade and economic relations between the two nations.

According to the press service of the Armenian President, both  parties expressed a firm commitment to fostering direct contacts  between Armenian and Indian business circles. To achieve this, the  sides plan to facilitate joint business forums and other  collaborative platforms.

The parties also emphasized the importance of strengthening  cooperation, particularly in high technology, education,  defense,  and other strategically important areas. They positively assessed the  current cooperation between Armenia and India on international  platforms, highlighting its effectiveness and the significance of  mutual support. 

It should be noted that the trade turnover between Armenia and India  has been rapidly growing annually, exceeding $400 million. This  growth is accompanied by an increase in cultural and humanitarian  ties, including labor migration from India. Defense cooperation  between the countries is also actively developing.
