ArmInfo.  Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan received a delegation from the European Investment Bank (EIB), led by  Matteo Rivilini, Head of the EIB Regional Office.

According to the MTAI press service, the progress of EIB projects in  Armenia and the Bank's potential participation in new projects were  discussed during the meeting. The Minister touched upon the "Yerevan  Water Supply Improvement" project.

Khudatyan also emphasized the importance of the prompt launch of the  "Armenia: Sustainable Syunik" project. The main objective of this ?50  million project is to increase the resilience of the Syunik region  through social and infrastructural development. The project includes  three main components: improving healthcare, expanding access to  technical and vocational education, and developing water supply  systems for communities and households.

A number of issues related to the implementation of the North-South  project, with EIB participation, were also discussed during the  meeting.

The European Investment Bank is a key partner for Armenia, investing  in major infrastructure projects and supporting the private sector.  Key areas include road modernization, SME development, the green  economy, and energy, with the total investment volume increasing  significantly in 2025, creating jobs and reducing foreign exchange  risks for businesses. Specifically, the Bank allocated ?236 million  for the construction of the key 60-kilometer Sisian-Kajaran highway  (part of the North-South Corridor). The project includes 27 bridges  and 8 tunnels, with completion scheduled for 2033. The Bank also  allocated ?50 million for the development of the Syunik region. In  December 2025, the EIB and Ardshinbank launched a ?100 million  program to support small businesses. Credit lines of ?70 million have  also been opened through the Central Bank of Armenia to improve  access to finance. The EIB has provided ?50 million for the  development of energy infrastructure.
