ArmInfo. Armenia's metallurgical industry is projected to slow in growth from 1% to a stagnant 0.2% in 2025, maintaining the same average production volumes as in 2024.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, 300,500 tons of copper concentrate were produced in Armenia from January to December 2025, declining from a 4.1% annual growth rate to a 0.4% decline.
Molybdenum concentrate production also languished in decline, with annual growth rates slowing from 26.9% to 13.6%, maintaining a volume of 14,700 tons. Ferromolybdenum production also declined, decelerating from 42% to 33.6%, reaching 2,900 tons.
Zinc concentrate production, meanwhile, maintained growth, but at an annual rate of 28.7% to 10.5%, reaching 11,600 tons in 2025.
Steel pipes, hollow sections, and fittings were produced at 28,500 tons in 2025, decelerating from 16.8% to 15%.
Aluminum foil production recovered from a 23.2% decline to 4.6% growth, reaching 20,600 tons. According to the RA Customs Service, in the first half of 2025, Armenia reduced copper concentrate exports by 7.4% to 156,000 tons, while the customs value decreased by 0.1% to $267.2 million. The majority of copper concentrate was exported to China (87%), followed by a much smaller amount to Bulgaria (10.6%) and Iran (2.5%). Up to 1 ton was supplied to the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Molybdenum concentrate shipments decreased by 23.2% to 4,600 tons, while the customs value decreased by 13% to $98 million. Molybdenum concentrate was supplied from Armenia to the markets of Belgium (47.4%), the Netherlands (16%), Russia (11%), Korea (7.7%), China (6.7%), Brazil (2.5%), as well as Hong Kong, Germany, Slovenia, and Austria. Zinc concentrate shipments increased by 14% year-on-year in the first half of the year, reaching 5,700 tonnes, while the value increased by 37%, reaching $10 million. As in previous years, the entire volume went to Belgium.
Aluminum foil exports from Armenia in the first half of 2025 slowed from a year-on-year decline of 22.8% to 8.7%, amounting to 9,200 tonnes. Meanwhile, the customs value of exported foil increased by 29.3% year-on-year (versus a 36% decline a year ago), reaching $40.8 million. Foil was primarily exported to Germany (64.5%), with much smaller amounts going to the Netherlands (18%), Poland (10%), Russia (4.1%), and France (1.7%). The remainder went to the Czech Republic, Italy, Georgia, Belarus, and the UAE.
