ArmInfo.During a meeting with Serbian Ambassador to the Republic Tatjana Cvetkovic, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan praised the effective cooperation and strong friendly relations  established between Armenia and Serbia, emphasizing that the development of bilateral ties remains a key priority for the Armenian authorities.

According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Education,  Science, Culture, and Sports, Andreasyan highlighted the significant  potential for cooperation in education, science, culture, sports, and  youth, the full realization of which, she believes, could  significantly contribute to the strengthening of ties between the two  countries.

During the meeting, the establishment of an intergovernmental  commission on economic, scientific, and technical cooperation between  Armenia and Serbia was discussed. It was noted that Zhanna Andreasyan  has been appointed chairperson of the commission on the Armenian  side, and Jagoda Lazarevic, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade of  Serbia, has been appointed chairperson on the Serbian side. The  parties discussed organizational matters related to the commission's  activities, as well as further steps to ensure its effective  operation.

Andreasyan also stated that Armenia will participate in the World  Expo 2027 in Belgrade ( May 15- August 15, 2027) with its own  separate pavilion.

The parties discussed intensifying cooperation in education,  emphasizing the significance of expanding partnerships between  universities, developing international exchange programs, and  academic mobility.  Andreasyan noted that the Serbian language has  been taught at Yerevan State University since October 14, 2024,  generating great interest among students. She also proposed exploring  the possibility of teaching Armenian at a higher education  institution in Serbia. In turn, Cvetkovic expressed gratitude for the  reception and reaffirmed Serbia's readiness to continue and expand  cooperation with the Republic of Armenia, particularly in  education,  science, culture, and sports.

The Serbian Ambassador also emphasized the importance of cooperation  within the International Organization of La Francophonie, noting the  significance of hosting the 10th International Francophonie Games and  learning from Armenia's experience.

Underscoring the need to deepen cooperation in higher education, the  Serbian diplomat reported that an Armenian student is already  studying in Belgrade under the "Peace in Serbia" scholarship program,  and the Serbian side is interested in increasing the number of  students. The program is open to all universities and majors, from  undergraduate to graduate.

The more than 30 development programs implemented by Serbia in  Armenia were also noted. These programs are aimed at improving sports  and cultural infrastructure, community development, supporting women  and children, and promoting clean energy. It was noted that Armenia  will soon host several important international events, including the  European Political Community Summit and COP17, in which Serbia is  also expected to participate at a high level.
