RA NA discussing candidates for Information Systems Regulatory  Commission members 

ArmInfo. On March 26, the Armenian Parliament began discussing candidates for the Information Systems Regulatory Commission. The Armenian Government nominated Nairi Adamyan for a four-year term and Srbuhi Hakobyan for a three-year term.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic  of Armenia, presented the candidates' biographies.

During their presentations, the candidates outlined their visions for  the development of information technology, cybersecurity, maintaining  competition, and protecting against hybrid threats.

Voting on the candidates is expected to take place later.

As a reminder, an autonomous regulatory body, the Information Systems  Regulatory Commission, is being established in Armenia within the  framework of the Law on Cybersecurity. The five-member body, elected  by parliament, will be responsible for protecting critical  infrastructure, identifying cyber incidents, and implementing  security standards in the public and private sectors. The new  structure will focus on enhancing cybersecurity, protecting critical  infrastructure, and establishing an autonomous, depoliticized  regulator. The Commission's responsibilities will include  identifying, preventing, and eliminating cyber incidents and  implementing cybersecurity standards. The new structure is designed  to strengthen national security in the digital sphere.
