Armenia`s High-Tech Minister supports strategic partnership with  Synopsys

ArmInfo. During a meeting with Raja Tabet, Sr. Vice President of Engineering Excellence at Synopsys, Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar  Hayrapetyan noted that the Armenian government and Synopsys have  established a warm and reliable partnership.

According to the Ministry's press service, Hayrapetyan expressed  confidence that the long-term presence of such a global company in  Armenia creates significant value by contributing to the development  of the country's engineering and technology ecosystem and making a  substantial impact on the semiconductor industry, design processes,  and development of AI-driven chip design.

Minister Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of Armenia's  strategic, global partnership with Synopsys, built on state-private  sector cooperation and a shared readiness to invest. He noted that  there is strong potential for increased investment in talent  development as well as in expanding research and development (R&D)  capabilities.

The Minister also highlighted nopsys' significant role in developing  human capital discovering and nurturing new talent, promoting mindset  and cultural transformation, and advancing soft skills.  The Minister  presented Government initiatives aimed at developing the  technological ecosystem, including the strategic program for the  high-tech sector, innovation-driven initiatives, and expanded  educational directions. He outlined sectoral priorities such as chip  design, artificial intelligence, robotics, microelectronics, and  more.

The Minister also addressed Armenia's broader technological  development vision, underscoring the strategic significance of the  Firebird and Eleveight AI projects. These initiatives aim to create a  high- capacity computing and data-processing environment. He noted  that the state intends to ensure access to modern computing  infrastructure and to develop an "AI Data Centers Park" where both  local and international technology companies can grow and operate.

In his remarks, Synopsys Senior Vice President of Engineering  Excellence, Raja Tabet shared his impressions of Armenia's technology  ecosystem, highlighting the significance of the engineering talent in  the country, and the unique culture of collaboration.  Tabet  reaffirmed Synopsys' longstanding commitment to supporting education  in Armenia. He underscored how Synopsys' focus on implementing STEM  and AI-focused programs in higher education is critical to equipping  the next generation of engineers with future-ready skills that will  further strengthen Armenia's technology ecosystem.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their  willingness to continue their effective cooperation.  Synopsys  Armenia President Yervand Zorian and Synopsys Armenia CJSC Director  Hovik Musaelyan also participated in the meeting.

It is worth noting that the company's Yerevan branch is the largest  IT company office in the country.  Synopsys Armenia was founded in  2004 and employs approximately 700 people.
