Gevorg Papoyan: Armenia s exports of agricultural produce and flowers exceeded 700 tons in three days

ArmInfo. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan presented updated data on the export of Armenian agricultural products and flowers.

Specifically, on his Facebook page, he reported that in just three days – from June 19 to 21 – Armenia exported 371 tons of apricots, 154 tons of cherries, 19 tons of strawberries, 144 tons of peppers, and 76 tons of tomatoes.

Flower exports totaled 7 tons, or 390,000 pieces.

It should be noted that the Russian authorized bodies – Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor – have imposed export restrictions on these products to the markets of the EAEU countries. The reason, as stated in official government statements, was the violations identified.

At the same time, Armenia traditionally exported approximately 90% of its fresh agricultural produce to the Russian market. In response to the current situation and the difficulties facing Armenian producers, the government has developed several export support programs for European markets, including compensation for transportation costs and customs duties. Furthermore, farmers have been exempted from loan obligations for a six-month period to enable them to find new markets.
