
ArmInfo. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with Deputy Prime Minister of Greece Kostis Hatzidakis.
According to the Armenian Embassy in Greece, during the meeting, the Ambassador presented the agenda of Armenian-Greek relations, touching on areas for strengthening bilateral cooperation. Information on recent visits of high-ranking officials to Greece was presented. The interlocutors exchanged views on regional development and issues related to unblocking communications. Tigran Mkrtchyan presented regional initiatives for the development of transport infrastructure put forward by Armenia, including the TRIP project, as an important factor in expanding regional economic ties and investment opportunities.
The potential for expanding economic cooperation was also discussed. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of intensifying business ties, proposing to organize a visit to Armenia for a Greek business delegation, including representatives from the construction, information technology, renewable energy, and agricultural sectors. They also talked about the upcoming events, including the Yerevan Summit of the European Political Community and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Armenia this fall. The Ambassador presented the preparatory work for these events, which hold great international significance.
Deputy Prime Minister Hatzidakis praised the prospects for developing bilateral ties, emphasizing the need to further enhance the bilateral relationship. He expressed his readiness to support the advancement of this process and also expressed interest in visiting Armenia to explore opportunities for economic cooperation.
