ArmInfo. An agreement was signed between the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Firebird AI, according to which the Armenian government will purchase high-performance computing resources from Firebird AI worth $25 million for a period of five years. This was announced on his Facebook page by Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitra Hayrapetyan.
He noted that this program is aimed at supporting startups, research groups, educational institutions, and individual specialists working in the field of artificial intelligence by providing high-performance computing resources for the design, training, and implementation of artificial intelligence systems.
"Well, congratulations to all of us on another strategic investment in the development of the technology sector in a public-private format," Hayrapetyan added.
As a reminder, on August 8, 2025, the US and Armenian governments signed a memorandum of understanding in Washington, D.C., on an innovative bilateral partnership in artificial intelligence and semiconductors. The Firebird initiative reflects both countries' shared commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening economic resilience, and advancing technological progress. Late last year, the Minister of High-Tech Industry announced that Firebird, an American company developing artificial intelligence (AI) cloud and infrastructure technologies, received an export license from the US government and announced its first $500 million investment in Armenia.
The Firebird AI Factory will be the most powerful computing and data center for artificial intelligence in the region. It will enable research institutions, technology companies, and enterprises to implement cutting- edge AI technologies at scale, positioning Armenia as an emerging force in the global tech landscape and a key hub for next-generation innovation.
