ArmInfo. The Armenian government has approved the signing of an intergovernmental agreement with Uzbekistan on international road transport. The decision was made at today's Cabinet meeting.
The rationale for the draft resolution emphasizes that passenger and freight road transport between Armenia and Uzbekistan remains unregulated, which hinders the organization of transportation and the development of economic cooperation between the two countries. The purpose of the agreement is to regulate passenger and freight road transport between the two countries, as well as to facilitate the free movement of people, goods, and services in the region.
It should be noted, however, that Armenia and Uzbekistan signed a cooperation agreement in the transport sector, including road transport, back in 2017.
