ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan, and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, participated in a roundtable discussion in The Hague on the prospects for exporting Armenian flowers to the European market.
The discussion included representatives from the Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture, Armenian and Dutch companies specializing in floriculture, logistics, and brokerage, as well as delegates from the world-renowned flower auction house, Royal FloraHolland.
Participants emphasized the importance of establishing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as involving as many greenhouse farms as possible in export processes. The Armenian delegation highlighted state programs and government assistance measures aimed at developing the domestic floriculture sector. According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation toured the headquarters of Royal FloraHolland and two major Dutch floral enterprises to observe auction operations and explore avenues for enhanced collaboration between Armenian and Dutch firms. The event was organized by the Embassy of Armenia in the Netherlands.
In early June, Royal FloraHolland, the world's largest cooperative marketplace for flowers and ornamental plants, announced it was opening its market to Armenian flowers. The organization unites thousands of growers and facilitates the daily trade of millions of flowers and plants through an auction system and a digital platform, connecting suppliers with buyers in Europe and other regions.
Recall, Rosselkhoznadzor, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, imposed temporary restrictions on the import of floral products originating in and originating from Armenia, effective May 22, 2026, until the inspection of greenhouses is completed and the results are analyzed.
Armenia has traditionally exported flowers to the EAEU and UAE markets. By the end of 2025, flower exports amounted to 1,320 tons or 78 million flowers.
