Armenia,  EU discuss strengthening economic resilience and exploring  new markets

ArmInfo. During the launch of the Connectivity Agenda Platform, Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan and Deputy Minister of Economy  Arman Khojoyan held discussions with Gert Jan Koopman,  Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for  Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR).

The parties discussed agreed projects aimed at developing economic  and transport connectivity, as well as other issues of cooperation  between Armenia and the European Union in this area. In this context,  the importance of the Joint Declaration on the Armenia-EU  Connectivity Partnership, signed during the first Armenia-EU Summit,  was emphasized. The Armenian delegation briefed the European  Commission on the current economic situation, specifically regarding  recent restrictions imposed on Armenian goods. The Armenian side  expressed appreciation for the support already provided by the  European Union and its member states and outlined further steps to  mitigate these challenges.

To support local producers, the Armenian government has implemented  several initiatives to facilitate exports to European markets,  including the compensation of transport costs and customs duties.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working  together to strengthen Armenia's economic resilience and find new  markets for Armenian products.
